26 - 11 - 83 - Physiotherapy in Psychiatry - Ros Ham to convene a Committee to investigate this.
26/27 - 5 - 91 - Physiotherapy in Mental Health - Mrs. Lamb said that following discussion with other Physiotherapy Advisers in the Auckland Areas concern was expressed at the lack of awareness of the work being done by Physiotherapists in Mental health. Executive discussed ways to increase this and will suggest that Physiotherapists already working in the area be contacted to seek their assistance and recommendations. The Scholarship Trust Fund could be applied to for funding of suitable seminars, workshops etc.
24/25 - 7 - 93 - Physiotherapists working in the Mental Health Field - J.Thorne is contacting Physiotherapists working in this area and will enclose.
25/26 - 9 - 93 - Physiotherapists working in the area of Mental Health - 30 replies have been received from the questionnarie. It is hoped that a workshop will be organised during the biennial conference in Auckland.
19 - 11 - 93 - Mental Health Physiotherapy - there have been 30 responses to original questionnaire. Now sending out further questionnaires and a list of SMART Physiotherapists working in NZ.
19/20 - 2 - 94 - Mental Health Physiotherapy -This group is looking at formal recognition as a SIG, also a name change.
16/ 17 - 4 - 94 - Mental Health Physiotherapy - The rules of this group are with MRC and appear to be consistent with those of the Society requiring just a few small amendments. Executive agreed that the groups should be encouraged to retain its original name “Stress Management and Related Therapies Group (SMART) rather the “Physiotherapists in Hyperventilation/Mental Health.
6 - 6 - 94 - SMART - J. Thorne gave a verbal Report of activities currently being pursued.
17/18 - 9 - 94 - SMART - A request from this group, which is working towards achieving SIG status, for set up funds was discussed, but declined.
25-27 - 11 - 94 - SMART - The group’s first newsletter was tabled and members congratulated. Liaison person is J.Thorne
17/19 - 2 - 95 - SMART - this group will be seeking full SIG status at the AGM in May.
7 - 5 - 95 - SMART - it was noted that Barbara Guthrie has returned from the WCPT international workshop but the Society has yet to receive her report . They have written to the Conference 1996 Committee suggesting a speaker.

21 - 5 - 95 - SMART - Barbara Guthrie’s Report is pending.
16 - 7 - 95 - SMART - A Report from B. Guthrie concerning her recent attendance at the WCPT Seminar of torture victims in Denmark was tabled. It will be included in the August Newsletter.
16 /17 - 9 - 95 - SMART - It was drawn to the attention of National Executive that this group would like the Society to collect its members’ subscriptions in 1996.

17/ 18 - 2 - 96 - SMART Group. A Report was tabled by J.Thorne. More half day courses are planned this year, the first in April/May. The Chairperson assisted with drafting the NZSP submission on the Mason Inquiry into Mental Services.
20/21 - 7 - 96 - SMART - A report from Jill Howard was tabled. This small group (35) held a seminar in June and is proposing to hold another later this year.
14/15 - 9 - 96 - SMART - no response. Two documents relating to mental health services have been received from the Ministry of Health and will be forwarded to the SMART group.
5/6 - 4 - 97 - SMART - Submissions have been made by Rosemary Mainwaring and Barbara Guthrie on behalf of SMART and the Society for the review of the mental health workforce.
28/29 - 6 - 97 - SMART - 2 representatives are to attend a conference on Designing Mental Health Education and Training in Auckland on 1 July.
4/5 - 10 - 97 - SMART - The AGM is to be held in conjunction with the NZ College of Physiotherapy conference.
15/16 - 11 - 97 - SMART - Committee Christchurch based since AGM held in October 1997.

13/15 November 1998 - SMART - A successful conference was held at Hanmer Springs in December 1998. A file of case studies in hyperventilation and other areas of physiotherapy in mental health is being developed.
3/4 July 1999 - A newsletter was produced in May and activities are being planned.
